A Cook County woman came home on Christmas to find a strange man folding her laundry in her Irving Park neighborhood apartment, police said.
Paul Edge, a registered sex offender, was charged with violation of sex offender registration, a felony, and a misdemeanor count of criminal trespass, authorities said.
Police said he also claimed he had cleaned the apartment.
Edge was convicted of aggravated criminal sexual abuse of a 15-year-old in 2005.
A judge set bail at $125,000 on Wednesday.
