After days of searching, an Iowa family was reunited with their dog after it was lost in a car crash.

WHO reports Shannon Graves, of Ankeny, was on her way to pick up her twins from school when she was involved in a crash Wednesday, December 12, 2012.  Her SUV rolled twice after it was reportedly sideswiped.  Shannon suffered minor injuries.

Alyah, the family dog, was with Shannon in the SUV when it crashed.  The dog was apparently spooked by the crash and ran away.

A Polk County sheriff’s deputy found Alyah at a park in Berwick, Iowa.  Because the dog was micro-chipped and wore tags, the deputy was able to reunite Alyah with her family just in time for Christmas.
