A stepladder and stepstool combination sold exclusively at Home Depot stores is being recalled after several people were hurt using the ladder.

Wing Enterprises has recalled the Switch-it Stepladder/Stepstool because, when it is extended, the inner side rails can separate from the outer side rails and cause the user to fall.

The Consumer Product Safety Commission says nine injuries were reported so far, ranging from minor scrapes to a fractured collar bone.

About 20,000 of the Switch-it Type 1A Stepladder/Stepstools are involved in the recall.  The aluminum ladders can be extended from a two-foot stepstool to a 6-foot ladder.  They were sold exclusively at Home Depot stores and online at HomeDepot.com between August and October 2012.

Customers should immediately stop using the recalled stepladders/stepstools and contact Wing Enterprises for a free replacement of the front outer section.  Contact Wing Enterprises toll-free at 1—855-595-3378 Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mountain time.  The company can also be reached online at www.littlegiantladders.com/switch-it-recall.
