A restaurant in Illinois gave away thousands of Twinkies and Hostess Cupcakes to its customers.

Andres Deleon of Baby’s Cheesecake and Lemonade says his restaurant in suburban Chicago spent two days brining in about 10,000 Twinkies and more than 2,000 Hostess cupcakes from a Hostess store.

“We thought it would be amusing to buy them all and give them out for free,” Deleon said.

Some of the customers said they’d keep the nearly-extinct treats to give as Christmas gifts.  Some said they couldn’t wait.

Twinkies lover Lindsay Huber said she was eating hers right away.

“This is going to be eaten today, because if I don’t eat it today my dad will probably get ahold of it tomorrow!” Huber said.
