Two teenagers face burglary charges after police said they broke into the garage of a Galesburg, Illinois home.

Police recently added patrols in some Galesburg neighborhoods after several vehicle and garage burglaries were reported in early December.  Police were encouraging residents to be sure their garages were locked and that vehicles are locked even when parked inside a garage.

Galesburg Police were sent to the 1000 block of North Cherry Street at about 10:30 p.m. Wednesday, December 5, 2012 after a resident said he saw someone in his garage.  The suspect reportedly walked away from the house.

Police searched the area and said they found and arrested 17-year old Tyson Twitchell, of Cameron, Illinois, about a block and a half away from the victim’s house.  A short time later, police found Nino Pagan of Galesburg in a vehicle nearby.  He was also arrested.

Twitchell and Pagan were each charged with burglary.  They were held in the Knox County Jail.

Police had not made any connection between the December 5 arrests and the other burglaries.
