Smoke poured from the roof of a Moline house when the second story caught fire Friday morning, November 30, 2012.

The homeowner, his wife and four children reportedly left the house at 556 24th Avenue at around 7 a.m.

Neighbors reported smoke coming from the roof of the house about two hours later.

Firefighters arrived to find heavy smoke coming from the top of the home.  They broke out a couple of windows to release the smoke, and the fire was quickly extinguished.

The homeowner said there was no working electricity on the second floor of the home where the fire started.  He said the house had been his childhood home and that the house was up for sale.

The cause of the fire was not yet determined.

No injuries were reported.
