Court sets trial date for Kendra Meaker

The full report is in confirming the woman accused of leaving her infant along the side of a rural road is competent to stand trial.

The psychologist who evaluated Kendra Meaker previously declared her competent to stand trial at a November 16 fitness hearing.   

The doctor’s complete report was submitted to the Stark County Circuit Court Thursday, November 29.

At a November 30, 2012 hearing, the next court date for the case was set for January 11, 2013.  The jury trial for Kendra Meaker was set for March 4, 2013.

Meaker, 19, faces one felony count of obstructing justice by destroying evidence and one misdemeanor count of endangering the life/health of a child.  She is accused of leaving her infant daughter, Mia, along the side of a rural road and then falsely reporting the child kidnapped.  

Meaker remains in custody in the Stark County Jail.
