The garbage truck was reportedly eastbound on Rockingham Road at about 3 p.m. when it was involved in a wreck with a white Toyota Corolla just east of Interstate 280.

Davenport Police said 24-year-old Lisa McDaniel, of Colona, Illinois, was driving the Corolla when she pulled out from a stop sign and into the path of the garbage truck.  Ms. McDaniel was killed in the crash.

The driver of the garbage truck was 45-year-old Michael Brown of Davenport, Iowa.  Police did not release information about whether Mr. Brown was injured in the crash.

Both vehicles came to rest in the median.

The trash truck was marked with the County Waste Inc. logo on the door.

Watts was charged with interference with official acts, which is a misdemeanor.  He was released from the Scott County Jail after posting $300 bond.
