Families and friends mark 4 months since girls disappeared

Tuesday marks four months since two missing cousins disappeared from eastern Iowa.

Lyric Cook and Elizabeth Collins were last seen July 13th in Evansdale.  Authorities believe the two were abducted near Meyers Lake, where the girls’ bikes were found.

Family and friends have worked to find clues to determine what happened to Lyric and Elizabeth.

Volunteers planned to search again on the four-month anniversary of the girls’ disappearance.

They are trying to renew interest in the case, pointing people to new missing posters and updated pictures.

KWWL reported Tuesday morning, Elizabeth’s father, Drew Collins left Evansdale and headed west to Sioux City.

Collins said he hopes the girls return for the holidays.

There was a vigil planned for 6 p.m. Tuesday night at Countryside Vineyard Church in Evansdale.
