A new report shows a gender salary gap between state employees in Iowa.

The Department of Administrative Services has released a salary database of state workers. It shows the median pay for women was about nine-percent less than men.

Out of 60,000 state employees, the median pay for women was $45,700 compared with a median salary for men of $50,300.

The highest paid female state employee was University of Iowa women’s basketball coach Lisa Bluder at $568,000. Iowa football coach Kirk Ferentz is the highest-paid man, with a salary of $3.7 million.
