Hundreds of runners fought through the chilly weather on Saturday, October 27th, 2012 for the Lagomarcino's Cocoa Beano 5K Hot Chocolate Race in downtown Moline.

The third annual event had a record turnout this year with 2,700 participants.

"Interesting thing about the race, it's 75% women which is an awfully high number and we've tried to figure out why that is and we think it's probably the chocolate," says Terry O'Connell, Race Organizer.

Proceeds from the race benefited the Mississippi Valley Boys and Girls Club.
