QUAD CITIES- There are names with ties to the Quad Cites on the Boy Scouts of America list.

The names include people with ties to Moline, Davenport, and Sterling. An Oregon law firm released more than 1,000 names Thursday of boy scout leaders and volunteers who were either accused or convicted of child sex abuse from 1965 to 1985.

"I've heard it before just not here in the Quad Cities," boy scout parent Jamie Kleindolph said. "It's really unfortunate."

One of the names included David Lundell in Moline.  The document says he "admitted to sexual experiences with six boys between 1981 and 1986."  Lundell was found guilty of four sex crimes. The court also declared him mentally ill in 1986.

Another name listed on the files was Robert Hutcheson's in Davenport. It says he "slept with some of the youth members." It also says Boy Scouts of America suspended him in 1989.

"These go back to 40, 50 years old when we did not do as good of a job as we should have," Boys Scouts of America President Wayne Perry said. "For that, and for the people hurt, we're profoundly sorry."

The news came as a surprise to parents of Illowa Boy Scouts. Illowa represents boy scout groups on both the Illinois and Iowa side of the river.

"It does make me worry," Kleindolph said. "But we attend all the meetings with our kids. We don't do overnight sleepovers or anything for something like that to happen."

The Illowa Boy Scout Council would not comment on the situation Thursday. To see our initial story, click here. To see the list of names, click here.
