Power outages accompanied rain, thunder and lightning that moved through the Quad Cities and surrounding areas Wednesday, September 5, 2012.
More than 1,500 Quad City-area residents were without electricity at the height of the storms Wednesday morning.
By about 8 a.m., MidAmerican Energy reported about 450 local residents without power. Most of those outages were on the Illinois side. That number was down to about 100 customers just before 11 a.m.
Another 175 Iowa City residents also lost electricity during the storms.
