Fight over cell phone ends with stabbing

Police said a fight over an allegedly stolen cell phone ended with a man being stabbed in Princeton, Illinois.   

Police said they were called to the 200 block of West Clark Street just before 5:30 a.m. Tuesday, September 4, 2012.  They arrived to find a 29-year-old man suffering from multiple stab wounds in his chest and abdomen.

“Apparently the altercation was the result of a stolen cell phone belonging to the victim,” said a statement from Princeton Police.

The alleged stabbing suspect, 33-year-old Nakia Shane Nielson of Delhi, Louisiana was arrested and charged with aggravated battery.

The victim was taken by ambulance to an area hospital.  He was last listed in stable condition.
