An East Moline soldier is back with his family, safe and sound, after nearly a year in Afghanistan.
A crowd of family and friends welcomed Jose Rodriguez home this afternoon.
Rodriguez, a member of the army, was deployed September of last year.
He’s missed American food, showers, a good bed and of course, his family.
“I mean, I haven’t seen my family in almost a year now,” said Rodriguez. “To finally be able to come back here and see all my family and friends, it’s quite a blessing.”
Rodriguez returned from Afghanistan in July.
Prior to the homecoming, he was in El Paso, Texas at Fort Bliss.
