Investigators hope someone can help them find the person or people who broke into the Peoples National Bank location in Annawan, Illinois.

The theft was discovered early Monday morning, August 13, 2012.

Police said someone cut a hole through an exterior wall of the bank at 111 N. Canal Street.  That’s how the alleged thief gained access to a safe inside.  It was still unclear what was inside the safe at the time of the theft.

“This crime follows closely after the June 26 theft of an ATM machine from the Shell Express at 306 N. Canal Street in Annawan,” said a statement from Henry County Crime Stoppers.  That crime is also still unsolved.

Anyone with information about either of these crimes is asked to contact Henry County Crime Stoppers at (800) 227-2324.  Calls are anonymous and tips that lead to a felony arrest could be eligible for a cash reward.
