Resident injured escaping Moline house fire

One person was hurt in an early-morning house fire Saturday, August 11, 2012.

Firefighters were sent to the home in the 1300 block of 17th Street just after 3:30 a.m.  Flames and heavy smoke were visible when they arrived.

One person was inside the home, that person was out before firefighters arrived.  The resident was taken to an area hospital by ambulance for treatment of burns and smoke inhalation. 

The second story of the home was heavily damaged by fire.  There was smoke and water damage throughout the rest of the home.  Damage was estimated at $31,000. 

The fire started in a second-story bedroom.  The cause of the fire was undetermined.
