An alligator handler who performed at the Mississippi Valley Fair was reportedly attacked at a fair in Ohio.

A spectator shared video after Daniel Beck, with the Kachunga & the Alligator show, was attacked Thursday, August 9, 2012 at the Cuyahoga County Fair in Ohio.

When Beck tried a second time to place his hand inside the gator’s mouth, the animal appeared to react to him.  Beck slipped and fell and that’s when the gator clamped down on his arm.

Horrified spectators screamed as a second trainer, Albert Lucas, eventually got the animal to release its grip on Beck’s arm.

Cuyahoga County Fair President Tim Fowler said Beck was taken to a hospital where he received several stitches before being released.

The trainers reportedly said they blamed themselves, and not the alligator, for what happened.
