Funeral arrangements set for teen football player

The Bureau County Coroner says a teenage football player who collapsed and died during football practice died of natural causes.

The Bureau County Coroner says a teenage football player who collapsed and died during football practice died of natural causes.

Daniel Lule, 17, collapsed just before 12:30 p.m. at Hall High School during football practice Wednesday, August 8, 2012. 

The Bureau County Republican reports coroner Janice Wamhoff said “the cause of Lule’s death is most certainly of natural causes.”  Wamhoff said there was no indication that Lule’s death was a suicide, a homicide or caused by an accident.

Results of an autopsy performed Friday, August 10 could take weeks to be completed. 

Daniel Lule is survived by his parents and two brothers. 

Visitation is set for 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday, August 12, 2012 at Barto Funeral Home in Spring Valley.  Funeral services are at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Spring Valley.  Burial will be at Valley Memorial Park.
