SPRINGFIELD, Illinois - Illinois farmers are being asked to adopt a classroom.
The statewide initiative called "Illinois Agriculture in the Classroom" wants to match state farmers with urban classrooms to help teach kids more about rural life.
Throughout the school year, adopted farmers send letters and photos to their adopted students, describing life on the farm.
The Illinois Farm Bureau says more farmers are need to spread the message.
The Bureau says farmers can send letters, tweets, pictures, e-mails, or anything to help the children better understand farming.
