The Village of Carbon Cliff, Illinois has banned all non-essential use of water until further notice.
The ban was unanimously passed by the village board at its August 7, 2012 meeting.
“This suspends the use of lawn fountains and hoses for sprinkling lawns and gardens as well as filling of swimming pools, washing of cars, etc.,” said a statement from Village Water Operator Mike Whittington.
No end date was given for the ban, which can only be lifted by the Water Superintendent.
