One of the two girls who disappeared in Evansdale, Iowa turns nine years old Tuesday, July 31, 2012.

KCRG reports a community Cupcakes of Hope event was planned for that day to thank people who have donated time and supplies to the search for the girls.

It is also Elizabeth Collins’ birthday.

Collins and her cousin, 10-year-old Lyric Cook, were last seen just after noon July 13, 2012 in Evansdale.  Their bikes and a purse belonging to one of the girls were found near Meyers Lake later that day.  The lake was partly drained and divers searched it but the girls have not been found.

Law enforcement officials are now calling it an abduction case.

A $50,000 reward is offered for information that leads to the solving the case.  Anyone with information is asked to call (319) 232-6682.
