Seven officers from the Davenport Police Department received promotions at a ceremony Wednesday, July 25, 2012.
The retirement of Lieutenant Scott Sievert was also recognized at the ceremony. Sievert served the Davenport Police Department for 36 years prior to his retirement.
Three of the promoted officers moved to the rank of corporal, two became sergeants and two became lieutenants.
“These guys are going to get some neat leadership experiences that "I've had the opportunity to have as well. So it's great for the department,” said Police Lieutenant Jason Smith.
Four new police department volunteers were also introduced as part of the ceremony.
