Police said they found a man by railroad tracks near South Clinton Street after he was apparently struck by a train.
Police were sent to the railroad tracks between Jackson and Cherry Streets at about 2:30 a.m. Saturday, July 14, 2012.
They arrived to find a stopped Union Pacific Train. Personnel on the train reported they might have hit a pedestrian on the tracks.
Thomas Weidel, 52, was found on the south side of the tracks. He was conscious but suffered an apparent head injury. He was treated at a local hospital.
