The liquor manager of The University Club in Moline, who wouldn’t allow a gay couple to rent out the venue, has reportedly resigned.
We first told you about the story last week.
Taylor Shumaker, who’s gay, tells us manager Kristen Stewart told her “we don’t rent to homosexual couples.”
In a statement e-mailed to our partners at the Dispatch-Argus, owner Perry Stewart says his wife was mistaken and that she has resigned.
In that statement, Stewart also expressed The University Club’s “deepest apologies” to Shumaker, who had inquired about renting the venue.
