The Rock Island County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death of a five-year-old.
Authorities responded to a call Saturday that the child had fallen into a slough in rural Illinois City on Saturday.
When officials arrived, the child was unresponsive.
The child was transported to Trinity Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
