Whiteside County deputies say they arrested a man who was allegedly intoxicated and driving the wrong way on Interstate 88.
The sheriff’s office got a call about a pickup truck traveling eastbound in the westbound lanes of I-88 Sunday, June 10, 2012. Deputies said they witnessed the wrong-way driver just east of the 40 mile marker.
Police said Edwin Coats, 39, of Cincinnati, Ohio was the driver of the truck.
Coats was arrested and charged with improper lane usage and driving under the influence of alcohol.
Coats was processed, assigned a court date and released from the Whiteside County Jail.
