Police: 4 arrested when stolen boat crashes into dam

Four people were arrested after police said they crashed a stolen boat into lock and dam 14 on the Mississippi River.

Four people were arrested after police said they crashed a stolen boat into lock and dam 14 on the Mississippi River.

The boat was reportedly stolen from Clinton, Iowa.

Police said one of the men on the boat called 911 and reported the crash.

Emergency workers from Scott County, LeClaire police and fire departments, Bettendorf and Port Byron fire departments and the Department of Natural Resources were among those who responded to the stranded boat.

All four of the passengers in the boat were rescued and the boat was towed ashore by the Corps of Engineers and fire rescue personnel.

Police said those rescued are Christopher Rannow, 25, of Clinton, Iowa; Anna Nelson, 32, of Clinton, Iowa; Sherrie Lynn Holloway, 52, of Hanover, Illinois and Jay Michael Parsi, 20, of Hanover, Illinois.

Police said all four were each charged with third-degree theft and with harassment of a public official.
