(CNN) — Current House Speaker John Boehner and former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi engaged in an elections expectations debate Sunday, with both forecasting a party victory in November.

Boehner, R-Ohio, acknowledged there will be some tough battles for Republicans, but said most GOP members are doing “very well.”

“I think most of our members are doing very well. But again, you never know what’s going to happen over the next six months,” Boehner said on ABC’s “This Week.” “My job is to make sure our team is prepared.”

Boehner, who earlier this year predicted there was a one-in-three chance Republicans would lose control of the House, dismissed a suggestion his party would be swept out in a wave election.

When asked if he was confident he would return as the top Republican if the GOP retains control of the House, he responded, “I am.”

However, Pelosi, D-California, who served as speaker before Democrats lost their House majority in the 2010 elections, on Sunday said she thinks there are 75 Republican seats currently in play.

“I feel pretty good about where we are,” Pelosi said on ABC.

Would she run for speaker if Democrats regain control?

“I just want to come back with the Democrats in the majority. That’s really what is important,” she said.

Democrats need to capture 25 seats currently held by Republicans to win back control of the lower chamber in November. And the House party fund-raising committees are battling for campaign cash.

After outraising its Democratic counterpart in April by a small margin, the National Republican Campaign Committee had $31.3 million in the bank, according to figures released Friday. The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee had $25 million cash on hand as of the end of April.
