Sterling Police Department are investigation two stolen ATM machines.  Machines from Northland Mall and Eggs in Paradise were both stolen early Saturday morning.

The alleged thieves drove through the back glass doors of the mall, directly to the ATM and towed it out.  They then drove through a wooded area behind the mall.  Police responded to a call from the alarm company around 1:00 A.M.

Around 6:00 A.M., police received another call from the small family restaurant just north of the mall called Eggs In Paradise.  Their ATM had also been stolen.

One has been recovered in a wooded field just north of the scenes.  The police are not sure if any money was actually stolen from the machine but it had been opened.  The amount of money in each machine will not be known until Monday.

The Illinois State Police have taken the recovered machine to their crime scene unit for investigations.  If you have any information on the case, please call the Sterling Police Department.
