Former Dixon comptroller, Rita Crundwell made her 2nd federal court appearance. She arrived about 40 mins early for her 9:00 court hearing at the Federal Courthouse in Rockford, Illinois
The main topic of that hearing was the care and concern for the 300+ horses that Rita owns.
Federal funds have been designated by the Marshal's office to continue to pay for Crundwell's employees that feed and care for those horses. The defense attorney's main concern was that the horses maintain their value, in case of a future sale.
Prosecutors say that Rita's only involvement with the horses now is to assist the Marshal's office with inventory.
Rita is scheduled to appear in the Rockford courtroom again Monday for her arraignment hearing.
