Take Back The Night

The annual “Take Back the Night” will be held Thursday, April 26, 2012 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Schwiebert Park in downtown Rock Island. The event brings together victims of violence and people who want to end violence of all types, including sexual assault, sexual abuse, dating violence, and domestic violence.

Admission to “Take Back the Night” is free. The event includes food vendors, activities for kids, giveaways, informational booths from community resources, live music from “Borrowed Time,” The Clothesline Project, a self-defense demonstration, and brief comments from survivors of violence.

“Take Back the Night” is presented by Family Resources, in conjunction with the National Crime Victim’s Rights Week Committee. April 22-28 is National Crime Victim’s Rights Week.
