Police: Garage Burglar possessed “large amount of stolen property”

DAVENPORT, Iowa – A Davenport man was allegedly caught in the act burglarizing cars parked in several area garages.

On Monday, April 23rd, authorities observed a male subject committing garage burglaries in Davenport.

When the suspect realized he was being watched, he allegedly fled only to be found a short time later at his residence.

According to police, his vehicle contained several items reported stolen that morning.

Matthew Anderson, 26, of Davenport is charged with three counts of burglary 3rd degree, possession of burglary tools, and driving while barred.

Police have recovered “a large amount of stolen property,” and are in the process of contacting the rightful owners.
