A recent study from the Pew Research Center says 20% of all Americans never use the Internet.

Those who don’t log on are mostly senior citizens, adults with an education level less than a high school diploma, people in households earning less than $30,000 per year and people with disabilities.

Most of the people who said they don’t go online have also never used the Internet before.  They don’t use computers, smartphones or tablets, either.

Almost half of those who said they don’t use the Internet said they simply weren’t interested in anything happening online.  They said they can communicate and get information without going online.

Only about ten percent of the non-users said they would consider using the Internet or email in the future.

Contrast that with 88%of American adults who say they have a cellphone, and 57% who say they have a laptop.  More than 60% of American adults say they access the Internet through a wireless connection.
