Dole Food Company recalled its Seven Lettuces salads distributed in 15 states, including Illinois, because of a Salmonella risk.

A random sample tested by the State of New York came back positive for Salmonella.

The recalled bags are stamped with a use-by date of April 11, 2012.  The UPC code on affected bags is 71430 01057 and is located on the back of the package below the barcode.  The recalled bags are also stamped with product codes 0577N089112A and 0577N089112B, located on the upper-right corner of the package.

The recalled bags of Seven Lettuces salads were distributed in Alabama, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Mississippi, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Virginia and Wisconsin.

Consumers should throw out recalled salads, and the company is contacting retailers to be sure the recalled bags are not available for sale.

No other Dole salads were included in the recall.
