All three Rock Island Public Library locations are closed Wednesday, February 29, 2012 in observance of a furlough day.
This is the sixth and final furlough day planned for the current fiscal year, which ends March 30, 2012. The furlough days are part of citywide budget cuts.
Library staff will be on unpaid leave and most library services will be unavailable.
The main library, 30/31 Branch and Southwest Branch locations will close at 8 p.m. Tuesday, February 28, 2012 and reopen at 9 a.m. Thursday, March 1. Book drops will be locked after 8 p.m. Tuesday. Patrons can use the online catalog and place items on hold, and eBooks and downloadable audio books will continue to be available.
