GALESBURG, Ill.—Police said a half pound of marijuana was found in the luggage of an Amtrak train passenger in Galesburg, Illinois.

Debrece Shields, 20, was reportedly exiting the train at the Galesburg station Wednesday, January 4, 2012 when a police K-9 dog alerted to his luggage.

Police said Shields admitted there was marijuana in his luggage and consented to having it searched.

Police said they found 237 grams, a little more than 8 ounces, of cannabis and several new, empty plastic sandwich bags in Shield’s luggage.

Shields was arrested and charged with unlawful possession of cannabis and unlawful possession of cannabis with intent to deliver.  He was held in the Knox County Jail.
