Thom White

News Producer

WQAD's Thom White produces News 8 at 5 p.m. and writes local theatre reviews for the River Cities Reader.

Thom joined WQAD as a Production Assistant in 2001 after studying Video and Audio Production at Ohio University in Athens, Ohio. He worked his way up to Associate Producer on Good Morning Quad Cities and then Producer of News 8 @ 6:30. His love of acting and theatre lead him to his role as WQAD's local theatre reviewer.

Originally from Andover, Illinois, Thom graduated from Orion High School. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Theory from Trinity International University and pursued an acting career in Chicago before earning his Bachelor of Science from OU.

Thom enjoys listening to and attending Broadway shows, reading fiction (particularly fantasy novels), digging in the garden, baking sweet treats and playing Nintendo Wii games. But, most of all, he enjoys spending time with his family, which includes a Chihuahua named Chloe.
