Shellie Nelson

Interactive Content Editor

Shellie joined the News 8 team producing web content in December 2011, when she and her husband moved to the Quad Cities to be closer to his family.

Shellie hails from Kansas City, where she worked as Executive Web Producer and previously as a senior assignment editor during her ten years at KSHB-TV. Her news background also includes work at WDAF-TV and KMBZ radio in Kansas City. Shellie also worked as a rush-hour traffic reporter and producer and spent a couple of years overseeing operations at a stock photography agency.

Shellie graduated Cum Laude from Park University where she majored in Communication Arts and minored in Marketing.

Working on web content lets her pursue her love of writing.

"I type and write fast and love discovering great stories in the most unusual places. I think above all else, it's important to maintain a healthy sense of humor about everything because the stuff worth doing should be fun!" says Shellie.
