Video shows Prince’s plane at Quad City International Airport

Matt has been around the sports scene in the Quad Cities for literally his entire life. A proud graduate of Alleman High School and St. Ambrose University, Matt was born and raised right here in the QCA. As a senior in college, he started interning at News 8, and has been here ever since.

Matt’s first beat at News 8 was to cover the Iowa Hawkeyes. Growing up an avid Iowa fan, it was hard for him to see this as “work”. According to Matt, there’s no better place to be on a Saturday than Kinnick Stadium.

Over more than a decade at News 8, Matt has created many of the sports features you enjoy today. From The Score to your Quad City Area Prep Power Poll, Matt loves to see the Quad Cities talking about their sports. He feels he’s in a truly special and unique situation to be able to cover sports in the area where he grew up. Matt knows exactly what it s like to be part of a spirited student section at one of the area’s exciting high school sporting events.

Matt loves talking sports, so if you see him out and about, make sure to stop and say, “Hi!”
