DAVENPORT, Iowa — A 16-year-old boy fighting for his life after being shot Saturday, May 19th evening succumbed to his wound Sunday morning, according to Davenport police.
Jovontia Jones had been transported to the University of Iowa Medical Center after first arriving by private car to Genesis East with the life-threatening injury just before 7 p.m. on Saturday.
Around the same time, Davenport police responded to multiple shots fired calls at the intersection of 13th St. and Harrison St.
The investigation continues into what happened and who did it.
No arrests have been made at this time.
