Driver who fled from crash arrested; faces traffic and drug charges

An unlicensed driver who left the scene of a crash on foot is facing both traffic charges and drug charges, according to police.

An unlicensed driver who left the scene of a crash on foot is facing both traffic charges and drug charges, according to police.

Two vehicles collided on U.S. Route 30 and Sand Road around 4 a.m. Thursday, December 14th, according to a statement from Lt. John Booker with the Whiteside County Sheriff’s Department. This intersection is southeast of Fulton, Illinois.

A driver, identified as 37-year-old Eron L. Ferroni from Mechanicsville, Iowa, fled on foot after the crash and was later arrested by deputies and a K-9 with Whiteside County, according to Lt. Booker’s statement.

Ferroni was charged with aggravated possession of stolen firearms, unlawful possession of firearms by a felon, possession of meth, failure to report accident with injury, no valid driver’s license, and improper lane usage.
