SUV and motorcycle involved in Thursday afternoon crash in Moline

Moline Police shut down the intersection of 48th St. and 4th Ave. after they say a motorcycle hit the back of an SUV.

MOLINE, Illinois -- On Thursday, December 14, Moline Police and Fire responded to the 4800 block of 4th Avenue in Moline for reports of a crash involving a motorcycle and an SUV.

According to the Moline Police Department, the driver of the motorcycle, a 24-year-old East Moline resident, was taken to Genesis-Illini before being moved by MedForce to OSF-St. Francis in Peoria for treatment of life-threatening injuries.

Police say the driver is currently in critical condition.

Police say one of the passengers in the SUV, an infant, was taken to Unity Point-Rock Island with non-life threatening injuries. The driver, 31 years old, of East Moline, and other passengers in the SUV were not injured.

Moline Police shutdown the road while the Traffic Investigations Division investigated the accident.
