MOLINE, Illinois -- Just after 5 p.m. on Wednesday evening, Moline Police responded to reports of shots fired in the 2500 block of 5th Street in Moline.

Police say multiple witnesses reported seeing a silver Ford Taurus and a gold Honda chasing each other at a high rate of speed, with occupants of one vehicle shooting at the other.

According to police, the chase continued until the gold Honda crashed in the 400 block of 27th Avenue. Witnesses reported seeing three black males in their early 20's flee the vehicle on foot.

A search of the area was conducted by the Moline, Rock Island, and Silvis Police Departments but the occupants of the vehicle were not located.

Police also say the silver Ford Taurus involved has not been found.

So far, there have been no reports of any injuries bu an uninvolved resident's vehicle was struck by a bullet and sustained damage.
