UPDATE: Arrest made after fire breaks out at Davenport home Monday morning

Fire broke out at a home on East 6th Street Monday morning, August 21st.

UPDATE: James P. Roe, 35, of Davenport, has been arrested on a first degree Arson charge for the fire that broke out at a Davenport home in the 400 block of East 6th St.

According to the arrest affivait, Roe did "commit arson in the first degree upon the property...in which the presence of one or more persons could be reasonably anticipated."

DAVENPORT -- Fire broke out at a home on East 6th Street Monday morning, August 21st.

Nobody was home at the time of the fire, which was in the 400 block of East 6th Street.  The fire was reportedly contained to just one room.

Police who responded to the fire were able to use a portable fire extinguisher to partially knock down the fire.  Firefighters used hoses to fully put out the flames.

Both Davenport's police and fire departments responded to the scene.

No word on what caused the fire.  There were no injuries reported.
