MERCER COUNTY -- Highway 67 was closed Thursday morning, May 18, between Preemption and Matherville due to a car accident that took place just south of Preemption.
There was one fatality.
According to the Mercer County Sheriff's Office, the victim was identified as Brady Weber.
Weber, from Milan, was a Senior at Sherrard High School.
Thursday, friends and family gathered to remember Weber. They released dozens of balloons to celebrate his life. Weber was set to graduate from Sherrard High School Sunday, May 21. The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
