ROCK ISLAND -- Two people were found dead inside a home in a Rock Island neighborhood over the weekend.
On Sunday evening, May 14, there was a heavy police presence in the 1200 block of 29th Street. A coroner was also spotted at the scene.
Officers went to the home shortly before 8 p.m. for a welfare check, and ended up finding two dead people inside, according to a statement from the Rock Island Police Department.
The two deceased people were identified as 90-year-old Eleanor M. Conwell and 69-year-old Steve D. Conwell, the statement said.
Police said they are investigating this as a double homicide.
