Take Your Child to Work day can feel a bit unwelcoming to stay-at-home parents. Yes, everyone knows mom works super hard at home, but it IS the same house the kids play, study, eat and sleep in every day.
Jessica Merritt, a stay-at-home mom from Davenport, was grappling with this dilemma prior to last Thursday’s Take Your Child Day. Like any modern mom, she took to Facebook to share her concerns. And boy did she strike a nerve!
This request elicited dozens of responses, from working and non-working moms alike, most of whom encouraged her to let the kid stay home with mom to get an idea of all she does.
But her daughter wasn’t convinced:
