DAVENPORT, Iowa — A Davenport woman is charged with first degree murder in the death of Mark Jasper.
Davenport police were called to 2300 block of Ripley Street for a death investigation around 10 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 7. Jasper, 64, of Davenport was found dead in the home with a gunshot wound.
Shiela Jasper, 52, is held in the Scott County Jail on a $1 million bond.
Davenport police confirmed that the two were married and lived in the home together.
Shiela admitted to police that while Mark was asleep in a chair, she got a revolver and shot him in the head, according to the criminal complaint. She then covered his face with a towel and waited several hours before contacting the mortuary to collect his body.
