DAVENPORT, Iowa -- A portion of Marquette Street has been closed all night because of a fire near the intersection of 5th Street.
The fire started at an apartment complex around 6 p.m. Sunday, December 18, 2016, according to a statement from the Davenport Police Department.
When the fire started, crews blocked traffic from driving on Marquette Street between 4th and 6th Streets.
At 6:40 a.m. police said the street was "still closed due to the accumulation of ice on the street from water used to fight a structure fire..."
The fire department said the temperature will have to get up to about 20 degrees before the roadway can be salted.
